What education did you have before you took the Visual Effects for Film and Television course?

Before starting Seneca's VFX program I had received a bachelor of fine arts for Digital Painting and Expanded Animation from OCAD University in Toronto

Tell us a bit about your experience at the college.

I started the program with experience with 3D software, but nothing specific to VFX. I was exposed to all sorts of industry software which was very exciting but never felt overwhelming. I had a great experience at Seneca, the program is very well planned out and really sets you up for starting your career. From learning about and gaining proficiency in all the industry software all the way to making your reel and applying for positions after graduating

How do you use the education you got at Seneca in your job today?

I use the education from my time at Seneca everyday. After Seneca, I was hired at MPC Toronto (formerly Mr. X) I still what I learned about camera and object tracking,

camera projection and Nuke from Seneca everyday. The program also gave me the confidence and knowledge of the industry that was invaluable when I started my career in VFX.

What advice would you give potential students who are thinking of taking the course?

Reach out to the instructors, the Seneca VFX program has excellent and enthusiastic instructors who are always happy to give all the help and advice you'll need to make your time at Seneca a success!
