What education did you have before you took the Visual Effects for Film and Television course?

Before taking the visual effects program in Seneca, I have a background in Illustration and took the computer animation program in Sheridan College.

Tell us a bit about your experience at the college.

It was exciting learning experience in this program. I really enjoy the time.
The class provided great equipment and all of teachers are seniors with professional skills and currently working in the VFX industry. It was a small class, we were able to get one by one problem solving with a teacher when we had difficulty. The 8-month course covers a lot of software knowledge and practice. Before the class, I was not sure if I can really do it and get into the vfx industry in the short amount of time, it is hard to believe before you start. Taking the course was the best choice for me to start my vfx career.

How do you use the education you got at Seneca in your job today?

The education in this course helps me get great fundamentals for 3D and compositing, it is not only about how to use software, also about how to understand the concept, which made me have the confidence to face challenges and solve problems.

What advice would you give potential students who are thinking of taking the course?

As what I know, many of people come from graphic design and animation industry worry about they did not touch 3D software before. Do not strangling with your background, you will learn everything that you need in this course, just working hard. Be prepared you have a large of time to work in the classroom and be sure what you want to focus on.
