VFT Program-2012

Sukrit Sachdeva

What education did you have before you took the Visual Effects for Film and Television course?

I had a Bachelors degree (Bsc.) in Animation and Multimedia from BIT, Mesra, India.

Tell us a bit about your experience at the college.

The VFT program exceeded my expectations in every way. Great teachers, great content and great delivery of the content. I believe the USP (unique selling point) of the program is the fact that all the teachers are working in the Industry which helps them keep the students up to speed with 'How it's being done in the Industry'.

How do you use the education you got at Seneca in your job today?

The education helped me get a clear understanding of my fundamentals which gives me the confidence to solve problems and take on tough challenges/shots.

What advice would you give potential students who are thinking of taking the course?

I've been approached by a lot of people interested in taking the VFT program but I feel most of them don't understand that this is a Post Graduate course and requires a basic education/understanding of Computer Graphics and it builds up from there. Also, since the duration of the program is only 8 months, it would help to know beforehand(or at least have some idea) what area one would like to specialize in (Compositing, FX or Motion Graphics) so he/she can focus more on the classes/subjects related to the specialization.
