VFT Program 2011
What education did you have before you took the Visual Effects for Film and Television course?
Before taking the visual effects program I had four years of visual design education as well as Computer Animation at Sheridan. Since I have a traditional arts education and four years of graphic design experience, working for Film and TV is more suitable for me.
Tell us a bit about your experience at the college.
For me, the VFT program at Seneca provided everything that you would need to get into this industry. Great facility, great teachers and great people around you. I learned a lot: the latest software, the advanced technology and the most important thing, a very positive attitude for learning and working.
How do you use the education you got at Seneca in your job today?
The VFT program at Seneca was great experience compared to other courses I have taken in the past. It was very difficult to start in the beginning, Our teachers, who are from visual effect studios in Toronto, provided us with the latest skills and technologies. During this time, I learned that you have to keep up to date with new skills all the time, and I feel I can face every challenge in my future job.
What advice would you give potential students who are thinking of taking the course?
Having a artistic background is really important for your future success. I also would like to advise new students that they should use their spare time out of the class to improve skills and work to make their demo reels as good as they can.
